Lunch down, and 4 hours to go...

I don't want to be at work today either. Wait, I don't work... I'm going to Universal with Dewayne. See you all tonight at White Wolf.

While I know dinner would herald the end of the workday, right now, I'd settle for LUNCH. Thank goodness Dan polished off the remaining chocolate chip cookies last night....

"Global BOBB mind?" Bj, you make it sound like a Borg collective. Or maybe I just have Star Trek on the brain after last night's Enterprise premiere.

Se ya'll tomorrow evening...

I'm all for White Wolf. Aoooooooooh!

Count me in for White Wolf. And something tells me that Simon Peacock will be attending as well. Oh, and my favorite color is Nissan X-Terra yella, my birthday is October 21st, and I don't have a favorite Beatle or or Sex Pistol.

I'm game for another Friday meal... but that isn't exactly news anymore, I guess.

Tuesday, September 25, 2001

As y'all probably know, I enjoy aliases and all those name games. While on holiday, I determined that my British name shall be Simon Peacock. Would you like a British name too? Send me your full name and I will enter it into the double secret British name generator. Bonus: if you send me your birthday (year not required), your favourite color and your favourite Beatle or Sex Pistol, the generator will reveal the name of the pub you frequent/own/have been barred from.

Cheers,
Simon

Indeed Bj, my cryptic message from the 21st does carry more than one meaning as does this message... again to Dewayne: The #2 didn't cause urgent #2. Perhaps the extra $1 is being spent on gloves or hair nets for the back of house staff.

Hello, all. I am back and very happy. Very. Sorry to have missed the Boma excursion. I am never leaving town again, so I should be available in the future. Meanwhile, thedailydewayne has been updated, tho the more festive part will probably go up tomorrow.

Special numeric message to Dewayne... Made it to #1 tonight on 5SG with a score of 622 (what can I say, they reset on alternate Thursdays). Within 2 minutes of achieving this, 1-2-3 Shake Your Body Down (Use It Up, Wear It Out) played. Bartender Joe and Casey (his 38th birthday happened at midnight) are my witnesses. More to the story, but I'll share that in the comfort of the club known on the phone as 22, or 69 if we're messin' with people.

It's good eatin', and I'll be there. Surprisingly, it appears in a strange twist of fate, that I will have one more tooth in my mouth than originally planned. I went to a new oral surgeon today... one that doesn't ask any questions about why he's taking out a tooth. We chatted, he numbed me up, and then we chatted some more. Perhaps it was the anesthetic, or my plans to eat a couple of good meals this weekend, but I decided to sleep on it (no pun intended) and then decide what to do. Those who have known me for longer than 15 minutes know that my teeth have pretty much ruled my life for the past five or six years. I have another appointment with a different dentist (I have six or so) on Tuesday at 4p. I'll keep y'all posted... like you care. I hope Boma has the carrot ginger soup tomorrow.

To add onto Bj's invite, a description of Boma - Flavors of Africa:

"A family restaurant open for breakfast and dinner, that captures the essence of vibrant life in the African marketplace. This family-fun buffet restaurant provides guests the ability to savor the African experience, which has multicultural influences. The restaurant showcases an exhibit kitchen, wood-burning grill, and rotisserie."

Or, check out the description here.

Bj: It was worth the extra effort. :)

Indeed, Brian will be missed on Saturday. Who planned the Headdress Ball the same night as Miss America? Sheesh.

It's nice to be loved (well, liked anyway). So much so in fact, that I have decided to wake up before the dinner hour today, and post to the blogbloc. I just accidentally put in a load of wash with two helpings of detergent, thinking that one was fabric softener. It's like an episode of I Love Lucy at my little home right now... well, minus Desi, Fred, and Ethyl. I am anxiously awaiting the return of Dewayne as we seem to best communicate over a brewski (with ice) or vodka collins at the local watering hole. It might be a late night meeting on Saturday though, as the social calendar has me pinned at the Headdress Ball that evening. On a side note, J.B. is Blogger-registered now, and should be making his inaugural post shortly.

J.B. we are all there for you! You can do it. Hope everyone was able to relax a bit and enjoy the weekend.

hellp all. this is from a rest stop near bath. despsarate email times! due to fly back on friday, lord AND george w. willing. welcome home brian ... needy a smoky bone fix!

That's all I needed to hear... I've returned to Orlando from Seattle to help J.B. get on the blogwagon. Hi y'all. Welcome back to me.

Naturally, once I raced home, put the grill away in the rain, and hunkered down over lunch... the rain stopped. By 1 or so, the "storm" was gone, and now the "eye" is the size of half of Lake County. As someone who also drastically overreacted to Hur. Floyd two years ago, I've gotta learn to take these things more in stride.

Would anyone be terribly offended if Dan & I didn't brave the weather tonight for the BOBB Gathering? :(

Well, The Mining Co. Steakhouse is median between WDW and home, but I don't think that's what Bj meant. (Although the adjacent Mini Golf might be fun.) I'm woefully uncreative this week in general, so I'm game for White Wolf.
Perhaps, Boyd, you can join this week?

another day in londontown. we visited the inside of the palace today. those royals love gold ceilings. who doesn't? pray for me tonight: i'm going to that pet shop boys musical WITH MY DAD. we just tooled through soho, where the boy-boy-hand-holding went zoom over his head. i may have to sing "i wouldn't normally do this kind of thing."

madness: the @ symbol here is where double quotes are in u.s. and vice versa. email carnage.

I start this Wednesday morning thankful that my family and friends are safe. This includes you, my new blog friends. I think I may be the last to chime in with how great the logo looks! Thank you Dewayne for the fun (and funny) details of your trip. It is a nice diversion.

"The Horror. The Horror!" ...that's about all I can say about today... By the way, Dewayne, I have it on good authority that there is also an "Is he gay or is he just American?" game in the U.K. Have a safe trip back.

not that y'all are worried.... but i wasn't scheduled to come back to u.s. until NEXT friday. please clean up everything before then. thanks.

Dewayne, thanks for a smile in an otherwise dreary day here. I was just contemplating how un-blog-inspired I am right now.

i may have stolen this thought from y'all, but it's true. The "is he gay or is he just european" game loses something over here.

hello all. anne is anne heche. we're likethis you know. we are doing the tourist thing (dad and i, not anne and i). for what it's worth, i ALWAYS vote for whitewolf. yum. tomorrow, the queen has invited us over. she's having a fire sale, you know. love love love the new logo. and wherefore art thou, j.b.?

those NY bloggers have nothing on us. i'm all for the tshirts.

oops. i'm rambling. more as it happens.

Bj, I hope your leftovers include Chang's brown rice. Our server so nicely gave me a box of the white. I guess I'll just have to go back & get more food there to enjoy the brown. (GRIN)
Naturally, the logo looks fabulous.

Greetings from London. I'll post more once I figure out what day it is. Of note at OIA: a man in capri pants. the drawstring cleverly matched the chartreuse color of his virgin atlantic backpack straps. as they say in france, "le freak, c'est chic."

anne says hello.

stay tuned.

This is BJ and Daniel blogging live in the gallery at the WMFE Furniture Auction. We are sitting here transfixed after marvelling at the "surprise action" bureau that sold at the surprising price of $1165! Oh my! While we sit here narrowly missing a reaction shot on live television, some sad sack is sitting at home bidding $40 on a 100 year-old hot water bottle. The suspense is killing us.

Congratulations to Bj for seeing that truth triumphs and quality customer service is not overlooked. Enjoy your return trip to Publix.

Sorry I'll be missing the gathering at White Wolf this evening, but greetings from Seattle. Let me know if there's anything you want me to bring back.

After hearing the talk around the office this morning, I firmly believe that Dewayne is joining Anne Heche on a trip to her mother planet. (Or he's been summoned to care for Mariah Carey.)

White Wolf on Friday evening it is. (I will have to check with the coordinator of my evening activities schedule before committing myself.) In reference to Eric's concern about Hedwig being two-view worthy, I would answer with a resounding YES!

Hope to join you tomorrow for some vittles and conversation.

Actually, I find it plausible that Dewayne just went to Key West or California. Both of these qualify as foreign countries in my book.

Dare I fear to tread on tradition?
Dan (a non-blogger, but a significant part of my life nonetheless) works until 7p on Friday, but would like to see Hedwig with us. How traumatic would it be to just do eats on Friday, and see Hedwig on Sunday, matinee-ish? Times on Sunday are: 2:00, 4:30, 7:00, 9:30.
If it's not do-able, that's cool too. I'll just hope Hedwig is two-view worthy. :)

I have arrived! I bear gifts of Flash Audio Tricks.

You know, there's a class offered by my employer that features an activity about "Mickey's Chocolate Surprise." The surprise in that instance is an invisible liquid ingredient, accompanied by a vocal sound effect. Hmmm....
No offense, but I'll pass on the grits.

A note concerning Dewayne's Chocolate Surprise Cake. The surprise is neither liquid or illegal. That's all I'm going to say -- except the when the Sentinel food editor ate a piece she said "yummy." I should back down from the boasting as I've only made this cake once. Stay tuned. (I'm not making ice cream! How about some cheese grits?)

Brian, I am so jealous! Seattle is one of my favorite places to visit, and I could easily live there again. The mountains, the fresh air, the original Starbucks, the cruise experience without the cruise price. (Sigh.)
If you happen to have time to shop in The Bon Marche while you're there, I'll gladly reimburse you if you'll pick up a box of Frango mixed chocolates for me.... (Contrary to popular belief, Frangos originiated in Seattle, not Chicago.)

Thank you to Bj for the official welcome. I'm not sure that I will ever have a complete two cents to contribute to any one topic. Perhaps I can work my way up from a meager farthing. Enjoy Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Friday. I believe that I will sit this BOBB gathering out. (It will give me a chance to catch up on the ever-increasing homework load.) But be warned, I will be attending soon!

Sleepless in Orlando. With just five hours until my flight leaves, it's too late to go to bed, but too early to make the decision to just stay up. In any case, I'll be in Seattle shortly, away from the 1000 degree temperatures of Orlando. While living in the Sunshine State has its perks, August and September are not them. And after my brush with Mr. U. V. Rays a couple weeks back, I will welcome stereotypical Washington weather with open, long-sleeve-clad arms. I'll zap an entry or two from the northwest.

Tuesday, September 04, 2001

You might think that after Sunday's BOBB Gathering my desire for chocolate would have been sated, at least temporarily. You'd be wrong if you thought that. I was.

Better late than never, right? I guess now I'm supposed to say something witty. Dang.

I hear and obey.

I would like to thank Brian for taking the time to research the meaning of burgeoning. The definition "to begin to grow or blossom" has a nice ring to it. It also led me here.

I'm not sure that I belong here, as I had to look up the word burgeoning, but I will participate in an effort to grow and flourish.
